Awasqa: The Green Network Project

At Awasqa (“weave” or “knitting” in Kichwa)/the Green Network Project they seek to create an international community journalism network by breaking linguistic barriers between indigenous communities in the Northern and Southern hemispheres, to share stories of radical resilience and foster a new vision of hope and deep intergenerational change.

Awasqa recognizes that their communities have fought for millennia colonialism, extractivism, and unjust/racist policies that see Mother Earth / Pachamama as an unlimited resource. These same communities are among the most impacted by the climate crisis, yet hold much of the wisdom the world community needs to protect our planet.
